SCREENING
At YVC, we offer a vein health screening session which is scheduled with the nurse or physician assistant. They visually examine your lower legs and determine if an initial evaluation is warranted. There is no charge for this screening.
INITIAL EVALUATION
At your initial evaluation, you will visit with the physician assistant and the physician about your health history. They will perform a physical exam. An ultrasound technologist will perform an ultrasound mapping of the venous system in lower extremities which is reviewed with the physician who interprets the study.
TREATMENT PLAN
After the initial evaluation, the physician will formulate a treatment plan for you. You will receive a written plan of the proposed care and meet with one of our financial counselors.
PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS
After your treatment plan is formulated, our financial counselor goes over the anticipated charges. They field your insurance questions and contact your insurance company for you . Where possible, the financial counselor will request pre-authorization from your insurance company. They will do their best to help you understand your financial responsibilities. Payment at the time of service is expected for amounts not covered by insurance.
TREATMENT OPTIONS
Treatment may include conservative care or corrective care. Conservative care may include exercise, elevation, emollient ( moisturizing lotion), elastic support hose, and elevation. Corrective care may include laser ablation, sclerotherapy, and other treatments.
